Calling it Channing's best show yet, Henry Adams reviews Laurence Channing: Paintings and Pastels in an article for the CAN Journal Blog.

 

In an attempt to put words to a body of work that even the artist himself speaks little about, Adams successfully captures the ethereal beauty of the paintings, even referring to Channing as a "Zen Master."

 

Adams comments on the pleasant surprise of Channing's use of color, his unique ability to paint mundane objects with such "poetic intensity," and likens his work to that of John Twatchman and Edwin Dickinson.
