The Bonfoey Gallery Opens Nevertheless, She Created, An Exhibition Celebrating Regional Women Artists For Women’s History Month
In support of Women’s History Month, The Bonfoey Gallery will be opening Nevertheless, She Created on March 5, 2021, running through April 3, 2020. An all-day opening will be open to the public by appointment from 10:00am-7:00pm on Friday, March 5th and 10:00am-1:00pm on Saturday, March 6th. The show will feature the work of nine well-established, regional artists: Ryn Clarke, Kristen Cliffel, Lane Cooper, Liz Maugans, Dana Oldfather, Jenniffer Omaitz, Pat Zinsmeister Parker, Pam Pastoric, and Susan Squires.
Women’s History Month was officially recognized in March of 1987 and has since been acknowledged as a national commemoration of the achievements women have made over the course of American history. It is more necessary than ever to provide support and encouragement as women continue to break boundaries.
Despite any trials and tribulations faced by women and society at large, these artists have continued to create a collection of work that expands across numerous mediums. The show will feature photography, ceramics, paintings, printmaking, and metalwork.
As a women-managed company, Bonfoey’s recognizes the importance of acknowledging the talented female artists in the community. The exhibition will participate in a gallery directory compiled by Lakeland Community College that highlights “artwork by women, of women, and about women during Women’s History Month.” For 13 years, Lakeland Community College has put together a show dedicated to art made by women. The Bonfoey Gallery is delighted to be included in such an exceptional network of artists and galleries.
