Kirsten Bowen graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design. She started working as a textile designer in New York City which led to opening her own textile design business, creating designs for children’s clothing and representing other artists. After finding representation in New York, Kirsten returned to Ohio and for over ten years, worked as a faux finisher who painted murals and wall designs in private residences. In 2003, Kirsten opened the Kirsten Bowen Gallery in Bexley, showcasing paintings, photography, and sculpture by Ohio’s rising artists. When the lease expired, the gallery closed and Kirsten Bowen became a full time artist who is represented by both the Hayley Gallery in New Albany, Ohio and the Bonfoey Gallery.
