Detroit area abstract expressionist Susan Morosky graduated from the art school at Eastern Michigan University with Outstanding Academic Achievement in Sculpture and Painting. Morosky did post-graduate study in Orvieto, Italy with Graham Nickson, Dean of the New York Studio School, and Robert Wilbert at Wayne State University.
Her paintings are nature-based, and develop from an abstract vocabulary inspired by the properties of water, fields, and their boundaries. Morosky has a distinct painterly approach with unique brushwork and gesture. Her compositional analysis takes place on the surface of the painting with layers continuously being reformulated by adding and removing material.
Morosky's work has been featured in the important art journals, American Art Collector, Architectural Digest, and Focus Santa Fe among others. Her paintings can be found in many prestigious private and corporate collections around North America, including Pfizer Research, University of Michigan, and Comerica Bank.
