Lisa Schonberg is a master of printmaking who combines relief, intaglio, monoprinting, pressure printing, and screenprinting to create images that reflect a deep reverence for nature. Her works capture water flow, reflections, earth formations, foliage, shadows, and natural ephemera, with patterned and textural layers highlighting the beauty and mystery of land, wind, water, and plant life. Lisa holds an MFA in Printmaking from Kent State University and a BFA from Ohio University. She recently retired from teaching visual arts and printmaking at Baldwin Wallace University and Notre Dame College, capping a 40-year career that included teaching in public and private schools, artist residencies, and internships.
Currently, she is a resident artist at Zygote Press in Cleveland, where she produces prints, teaches, and volunteers. She has been recognized with a residency at the Morgan Paper Conservatory and a "Green" certification in non-toxic printmaking from Zea Mays, along with participating in the Zygote Press's/Ohio Arts Council German artist exchange program. Since 1984, Lisa has exhibited her work in galleries and at juried, invitational, and solo shows. Her works are included in the collections of the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Southwest General Hospital, MetroHealth Center, Ohio Arts Council, Zea Mays Printmaking Studio, Grafikwerkstatt in Dresden, Germany, the Cuyahoga County Headquarters, the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, and Tri-C Metro Campus, among other corporate and private collections.
